Tay Salmon Fishing Terms & Conditions

All rents are payable in advance.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the full rent including VAT is payable when the tenant confirms booking of the let. The balance of the rent plus VAT must be paid two months prior to the first day of the fishing let. In the event of the balance not being paid on time the deposite will be retained and the fishing re-let.

In the event of the tenant being unwilling or unable to fish the tenant is still liable for the full rent plus VAT and the agent reserves the right to recover all monies due, plus any further expenses incurred, from the original tenant.

The agent and proprietors let the rights of fishing only, and do not accept responsibility for the natural hazard and adverse climatic conditions outwith their control affecting the catching of Salmon. The proprietors accept no responsibility for loss or damage to tenants property from whatever cause arising, nor for any injury to the tenant or any member of the fishing party. In the interest of safety no alcohol should be offered or given to the boatmen during the fishing period. Although the proprietors accept no liability for personal fishing accidents, they strongly recommend that all anglers, whether in the boat or on the bank, should wear lifejackets which are supplied.

Any records of catches submitted to prospective tenants are as received from the proprietors and the agent, while believing them to be correct, does not accept responsibility for their accuracy.

On the first day of let the tenant will be provided with a written permit complying with the Salmon Fishery Acts. It will indicate how many rods are authorised. This permit must be produced on demand from a police officer or duly appointed Fishery Board Bailiff.

The tenant is responsible for the fishing party at all times when fishing. Should the tenant not be present at any time a person must be nominated to take charge of the party.

Fishing with prawns, shrimps or any part thereof is banned at all times. Fishing with worms is banned until 1st June

The rent includes the services of one boatman weeks 1 - 20 and two boatmen from there after to the end of the season.
Where the lets are made up of more than one party, the services of the single boatmen are shared.
The tenant is not permitted to hire or engage any additional boatmen or boats other than those provided by the proprietor. In the interest of safety the Boatmen's decision on when it is not safe to take the boat out is final.
