Started wet with a spate running for a few days followed by a good dry spell, then again returning to more rain and spate at the end of the month.

There have been a lot of geese passing over for a few weeks now, and the teal are returning to the estuary in large numbers. The mute swans are back in good numbers with a few familiar coloured rings amongst them, there have also been sightings of kingfisher, great crested grebe and otters on the river.
The seals, cormorants and goosanders are all managing to catch their fill with ease through the varying river conditions.
The weather has played it`s part in an abundance of different funghi this autumn and the trees are later parting with their leaves with no frost as yet.

The bee hives have been sorted out for the winter, and the grass and reeds are getting their final cuts, just part of another month on the estuary.

With colder weather on the way, November should see more changes.
