Meet The Ghillies
David Godfrey
David is the Head ghillie and oversees the day to day running of Cargill. He is an expert fly caster and tutor and can help our clients to learn all disciplines in Salmon and Trout casting. David has fished the Tay since a young age and help our clients to catch thousands of Salmon. He was instrumental in the construction and idea behind our willowgate fishery and wildlife ponds.
Allister Scott
Allister is an expert fly caster and tutor. Salmon fishing on the Tay from a very early age he has built a wealth of knowledge and understanding which is most valuable to our guests.
Michael Brown
Michael began fishing from a very young age with a background of fly fishing for both trout and salmon. This interest led to him obtaining an honours degree in Aquaculture from Aberdeen University. After specialising his studies on wild salmonid populations Michael worked as a fisheries biologist acquiring an extensive knowledge of salmon and trout. His fishing experiences vary from fly fishing for salmon in Scotland to wild trout in New Zealand. Michael is a ghillie on Cargill as well as being involved with the trout fishery in Perth. He will be available to provide casting instruction and is dedicated to promoting fly fishing to the younger generation. Michael is also a fully qualified carpenter.
