Cargill Beat 2008 Season
Spring 2008
The 2008 Spring on Cargill was an improvement on recent years with some larger 3 sea winter salmon being seen and caught. Notable fish were a 25 lber for Craig Forrest, a20lber for Fred Harrisson a 18lb and 16lber Colin Coombes. This Spring has been a milestone in the Tays history for catch and release with the majority of tay beats releasing most of there catch, Cargills policy of 100% catch and release has been met with very little resistance and a lot of welcome from all our anglers being involved with this landmark decision. The fish this spring have been of top quality with well over three quarters of the fish being sealiced and in fantastic order.
In total we had 58 Spring salmon with 55 being returned to the river.
I would like to thank all our anglers for their cooperation and assistance this spring.
Hopefully the grilse and summer salmon are on the way and will continue to offer our fishers good sport so check out availability as fishing is going quickly now.
Thanks again and tight lines for the rest of the season
